Fraser and his Hamiota rink edged Lyle Henry Wildewood 7-6 to clinch the Manitoba masters curling championship. They previously won the A-side by defeating Glen Kirton 9-6, while Henry advanced via the B-side with an 8-4 win over Roy Waldroff. Fraser finished 5-1, after beating Janke, Sharpe, Kitson and Kirton in the A-side.

A new eight inch well 180 feet deep will supply about 30 farms in the Lavinia area of Hamiota RM Manitoba. The project cost 26000 dollars and will include a stand pipe timer and dusk to dawn light. Canada Manitoba and Hamiota share funding under supervision of the Manitoba Water Services Board PFRA.
