Health concerns prompt sale of pure bred turkeys Red Burbons White Holland and Annaset at cost. In Christ Church Hamiota Women's Day of Prayer drew a large crowd with Miss Donna Hunsaker on violin. Hamiota hockey defeated Foxwarren and Shoal Lake visit produced a tied game before an Hamiota overtime win 11 9.

McConnell Honors Miss May MacMurahhy With Bridal Shower

Friends gathered at the school on Saturday February 10th to honor Miss May MacMurahhy, bride-elect for February 14 1945, with gifts and a decorated wagon parade. Gloria Ar buthnott and Jimmie Emerson acted as bride and groom, and May expressed thanks after the gift distribution. About fifty guests attended as Joyce Richardson played Here Comes the Bride, and Mary Brown read the address.

Valentines Day Wedding at McConnell Manse

May Elizabeth McMurachy and James Wesley Morgan wed at the United Church Manse in McConnell on St. Valentine’s Day. Rev. W. M. Turnbull officiated as coral crepe adorned bride exchanged vows with a sister and a brother in law attending. A wedding supper for twelve followed. The couple will reside on the groom’s farm at McConnell after a brief honeymoon.

Local News Roundup From Fairford and Winnipeg Visits

Wm. Lorimer spent the weekend in Winnipeg. Mr. Redford of Fairford, Man arrived to visit his son in law and daughter. May Ross is a patient in Brandon Hospital and wished well. Mrs. Chas Gray returned after a week in Winnipeg. The W A met at Mrs. C L Andersons home with twenty two members. Mrs. Collie led with Mrs Routledge assisting. Red Cross planning followed the meeting. Fruit cake drawings raised 28.35 with Leonard Lipscombe and Bobby Gowanlock winning. Fifteen quilts were donated and sewing and knitting were received.
