The Manitoba government will overhaul the controversial elk ranching scheme to ensure fair treatment for all potential ranchers. Manitoba Public Insurance introduces deductibles for vehicle theft starting March 1 1997. Key figures include 9400+ stolen in 1996 and an 8 percent rise. emphasis on turning off engines and locking doors.
The Hamiota Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting on January 23 to decide to continue as a chamber despite low member participation.
