Woodworth Senior Services Annual Meeting Report
Kenton notes from the Woodworth Senior Services annual meeting held January 23 at Lenore Community Hall with 23 attendees. Officers including Marvin Elder as chair and Beverly Bennett as secretary presented reports. John Svenson discussed Westman Region coordination and a 25 percent rise in support services. The handi van program is expanding with a 25-cent per kilometre rate and shared trips lowering per person costs. A reorganization occurred the same evening with John Svenson chairing. future plans include a spring workshop in Brandon and a January 28 budget meeting with regional participants.

The provincial goal is 1,685,000.00 to support efforts against heart disease which remains Canada’s leading killer, claiming over 80,000 lives annually.
