War Amps premiere film Takeoffs and Landings features amputee skiers
War Amps chief H. Clifford Chadderton reports Takeoffs and Landings, a half hour film shown at an international disabled ski meet in Breckenridge, uses Nakiska Kids to deliver safety and environmental messages with humor. Filmed at Sunshine Village, it includes abominable snowman and bullfight sketches and is distributed across Canada by War Amps.

Hamiota Market Marks Annual Meeting and Year in Review
The Hamiota and District Farmer's Market held its annual meeting January 21 at the Robertson home with Ross and Ethel Robertson hosting. Dale Willard attended from the western regional office as a guest. 1991 saw 14 markets averaging six vendors, with five markets held indoors due to weather and two November Christmas markets. Rain or shine markets on Friday mornings continued, aided by the Hamiota Rebekah Lodge raising funds and serving coffee. Vendors reported mixed receipts but overall satisfaction considering at home sales of market products. New items included lentil soup mix samples by Sandra Armitage, Glen Sunley’s puzzles, exotic vegetables, and crafts by three Nykoliation girls. Bakers offered favorites and new treats. Annual Market Conference is set near Gimli March 6, with entries by February 21 and a $65 registration. contact Margaret Heise. An April open meeting is planned with Ross Robertson and Margaret Heise invited.

Senior Playoffs Showdown In Hamiota And Area Events
Hamiota notes the Senior Playoffs running through January with event results in Floorshuffle Whist Crokinole Carpet Bowl and Cribbage.
