Seed plant closure ends Carberry Seeds Ltd after 35 years

The Carberry seed cleaning and related operations shut down after nearly 35 years. Land and buildings sold for incorporation into the McLaren farm. owner Les Watts plans to continue his sign business elsewhere. The plant, founded in 1961 by Fred Watts, once ran round the clock and expanded in several directions before decline due to shifts in local crops.
