Centennial tournament marks success for Hamiota hockey
The Hamiota Centennial Minor Hockey Tournament held January 13–15, 1984 drew teams from Decker Virden Minnedosa Rossburn Oak Lake Shoal Lake Minniota Neepawa Rapid City Birtle Elkhorn and four Hamiota squads. 90th Birthday Celebrated by Kenton Family
Mrs. Gertie Curtis of Kenton marked her 90th birthday with a Sunday supper and a Friday come and go tea at Kenton Hall attended by eight children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Relatives from Red Deer Pilot Mound and Saskatchewan joined, with Leisure Club serving lunch and tea. Mrs Curtis has lived in the Kenton district 54 years and lists 43 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren among family.
