McGregor Unopposed for Conservative Nomination in Virden

Morris McGregor M.L.A. for Virden Constituency faced no opposition at the Virden Progressive Conservative Association nominating meeting held in the Elks Hall on November 16. Over 80 people attended the gathering. Mr. McGregor's future plans were not disclosed.

Manitoba Crop Insurance deadline and farmer figures

December 31 marks the deadline for paying all risk crop insurance premiums without interest charges retroactive to May 1 1976 the insurance year. Farmers paying by year end save more than the interest and premiums paid in 76 counted toward income tax. In 1976 Manitoba insured 14 573 farmers covering just over four million acres with all risk coverage valued at 151 871 000. Farmers’ share of premiums was about 514 million.
