Stan H. Rampling Honoured After Forty Years Of Service

Stan H Rampling celebrated forty years with the Manitoba Telephone System at a banquet and dance on December 5. Gold watch table saw life membership and a band provided by Telephone personnel recognized his long service. Attendees included G M Dan McLennan Shoal Lake Jim McFarlane Winnipeg and Pateman Assiniboine Hospital.

Annual Pool Meeting at Hamiota Elevator Banquet

The Hamiota Pool Elevator held its annual meeting and banquet at Chum Ah Hall on November 26 with 129 members and guests. Mr. Chas Randell received a recliner chair and an ornamental clock for 20 years of service. Wm Lindsay announced block system operation starting next year. The committee for next year includes E M Brooks and others.

Toastmasters Hold Meeting in Shoal Lake

Attendance at recent meetings is high and program quality improves. Highlights include Maurice Falloon as Toastmaster November 24 with speakers B Shwaluk Wayne Johnston and Bob Durston. Charter night set for December 12 at Buffalo Plains Inn. December 1 meeting led by Dick White.

Cardale Co-op Elevator Assoc Annual Meeting Recap

The Cardale Co-operative Elevator Association held its annual meeting on November 21, 1969 in Orange Hall with 23 members, 2 visitors and 4 speakers. Highlights included reports from directors, talks on the Inter Cultural Teen Camp, branch line abandonment, and grain shipment concerns. Surplus available for allocation stood at $4793.84 as officials discussed export content and labor costs.

W. J. Meet Hamiota Women’s Institute Minutes

The Hamiota Women’s Institute met December 4 at the Senior Citizens Park Residence with 37 attendees. Reports noted $88.17 transferred from savings, leaving $86.28 after expenses. 179 sewn articles and 10 afghans sent to the Red Cross.

U C W Meeting At Mrs Hudson Anderson Home

The Oakner U C W held its Annual Christmas meeting at Mrs. Hudson Anderson's home on December 31. Seventeen members and eight visitors attended as Mrs. Lloyd Anderson opened the business session and announced the 1970 officer slate including President Mrs Norman Argue and 1st vice Mrs Ivan Routledge.

Crandall 4-H Club Plans December Achievement Night

Crandall Garden Gun and Potato Club held its fourth meeting of the year on December 2 with twenty seven members present. An achievement night was scheduled for December 12 at 8:00 p.m. in Crandall Community Centre. Miss Hazel Mitchel will give a talk on Preparing Wild Meat. Everyone is welcome.

Anniversary Celebrated by Jim and Connie Angus

An afternoon tea marked the thirtieth wedding anniversary for Mr and Mrs Jim Angus on Sunday December 7. Friends and neighbors delivered gifts and warm wishes and a dainty lunch followed by a family dinner at Wayne and Doreen Angus’s home.
