Hamiota Ladies Aid Meets Sets 1970 71 Officers
The Hamiota Hospital District No. 7A Ladies Aid met in the community room on Friday November 28 with 14 districts represented. The group approved last meeting’s minutes, noted blood donors short of three hundred bottles, and reviewed hospital finances totaling 938.44 with a bank balance of 948.34. New beds arrived, two officers announced changes, and the 1970 71 slate was prepared led by Past President Mrs Hedley with Mrs A Wiltsey as president. The meeting adjourned with Mizpah Benediction and no December session.

The Birdtail River School Division No. 38 held its regular meeting in Shoal Lake on November 27 1969 at 8:00 p.m. Trustees and attendees present included Fulton Armitage Butcher Hames Randell Hyndman Waddell Falloon Selby Lewycky and Inspector P H Funk. The board accepted minutes and correspondence approved staff changes route adjustments and open teaching area supply bids and progress payments for Hamiota and St Lazare additions.

Mr and Mrs Gordon Allan of Hamiota celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a turkey supper. Eldest grandson Grant Asselstine offered the blessing and Gordie gave a toast, as relatives gathered from Winnipeg Elva Man and local areas for the family event.

Joint Pool Associations Meet in Decker and Lavinia
The 1969 annual meetings of Decker and Lavinia pool associations were held jointly on November 27 with 22 Decker and 21 Lavinia members. Wallace Fraser reported for Manitoba Pool Elevators and John Wythe shared the Winnipeg meeting highlights. McQuaker urged local participation to keep control as the operation becomes active. Decker Rink Elects Officers for Upcoming Year
The Decker Rink held its organizational meeting on November 26. Elected officers are President Ted Little, Vice President Ray Lints, Secretary C Nichol. Directors are Russ Schweitzer, Don Gregory, and Elgin Knight. Caretaker is Frank Rosenberger. Mixed curling rinks join plans. Senior Hockey Team to join Manitoba Centennial League. Youth hockey teams 12 and under and 10 and under also featured.
Four H clubs span December achievements in foods and beef events
HAMIOTA reports on December 1 achievement events for eight girls completing Unit C Foods projects judged by Hazel Mitchell with eight red ribbons. Recaps McCONNELL Be ef Club banquet November 22 with leaders and guests, plus awards and a muzzle themed talk. Oakner 4-H Beef Calf Club reorganized November 26 with new roles, speech selections, a $20 donation, and slides from Wight. Next meetings set for December 2 at local homes.
