Manitoba groups mark Seton Centre anniversary with grant
A Winnipeg joint celebration between the Seton Centre and the Manitoba Naturalist Society marked the 100th anniversary of Seton Centre's first province naturalist appointment. A $15,000 grant from the Manitoba Department of Natural Resources was announced, with plans for winter exhibits and programs. The piece also notes the Paulencu house, Manitoba's last surviving Romanian folk-house, being moved to a heritage site near Lennard. Cancer in Western Manitoba is rising beyond provincial and national averages, prompting reviews by health authorities and calls for more staff and space at Brandon General Hospital to handle increased chemotherapy demand.
