Canadian Hog Grading Shifts To Metric Weights

Canada moves hog grading to metric weights and measures effective December 31 1979. Prices quoted per 100 kilograms and fat measured in milliliters will replace old standards. The system, developed by the Canadian Pork Council and partners, may cause individual hog grades to vary though total payouts should align with prior levels.
