The Citizens Bail announces a public performance featuring the renowned Tom Marks and a strong supporting company of ten, delivering a polished entertainment program. The event promises a refined program with a celebrated leading figure and capable ensemble.
The column vented at door to door touts by agents and brokers selling overhyped schemes promising instant wealth. It warned many offerings were dubious and unlikely to deliver, with only a few possibly legitimate, while others target unwary locals far from home.
A letter from Chas Penny requests correction of a report on the Hamiota fair. He argues the drop in ladies work exhibits is due to a long standing entry rule and cites that a 10 cent charge applies only to entries over ten, not per ten, a rule in force four years.

Grain Growers plan to have three elevators ready for grain rush. Missionary Society hosted a raspberry social at the Methodist church last Tuesday with a small crowd due to cold damp weather. Home Economic Society meeting previously heard Dr Hudson urge scattered sanitary measures to prevent disease, noting some forget to act.
The week brings heavy showers and strong winds with no crop damage reported. Wheat ripens slowly with cutting unlikely before a week or ten days, while baying and dormancy in some areas hinder field work.
August Basler of Rapid City Manitoba died last Monday at his home. He was among the first settlers, moving from Portage la Prairie to Rapid City in the 1870s with his wife and children. Basler and his wife were the first white settlers there, enduring pioneer hardships. He helped welcome many travelers and his family influenced Western Canada's development. He was father to Mrs Cable and G A Basler and Heath Basler formerly of this town. Attendees at the Harding fair praised the district’s exhibits and livestock, despite a midday rain, with prize results to be printed in the next issue.
The Chambers Co. Ltd announces new fall dress goods and women and misses wear. Visitors are invited to inspect goods whether buying or not. A Western royal Lanso coil is available with winter supplies. Mr W Hot tutor and family visited Mr and Mrs Juter in town this week. Mr Symbaton plans a poultry farm in Hamiotas district. Dressmaking and alterations offered at the store with instruction on local tailoring.
