Manitoba Red Cross volunteers prepare a one day clinic in Hamiota from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. to collect about 250 donors. Donors undergo finger blood sample testing, iron check, and painless donation with a 10 minute rest, coffee and cookies afterwards.

Old Timers Picnic At Central Park Vancouver
The 29th annual Basket Picnic of the Old-Timers Hold Picnic de Hamiota and Shoal Lake Association took place at Central Park Vancouver B C on July 24 with 37 signing the register. Highlights included a croquet game and a rock and jam show by H Castle. President C Stevens opened with a welcome and W Beamish spoke on Shoal Lake's 75th anniversary while C Badger shared a Sham Battle story. Mrs Alf Sutherland recalled Hamiota’s 75th anniversary and Mrs Castle read an essay on Hamiota past and present by Mrs Jane Dale. A sing song closed the event.

Flying Partners Hold Fly-In Drive-In at Fishing Lake
Manitoba Flying Farmers held a fly-in drive-in event at Fishing Lake on Sunday, July 41, drawing about 50 members from Melita, Souris, Carman, Homewood, Winnipeg, Neepawa, St Faumaiois, Lavinia, Foxwarre and Birdtail. Guests included Flying Farmer Queen Dorothy Reddaway of Melita. The program featured the Flying Birdtail and shuttle service, a swim, and a dinner hosted by the Clelands. A business meeting planned the next Annual Regional Meeting for April and four new Winnipeg members joined. Fly-out is set for Homewood on Sunday, August 14, weather permitting.
