Pool to pay $4 million cash to Manitoba Pool members

Manitoba Pool Elevators will distribute 4.6 percent of each member's March 1998 equity as cash this month, following a December 1997 payout to retiring farmers. President Charlie Swanson cites record pre tax earnings of $33 million for year ending July 31, 1997 and a $31.3 million January equity allocation. The coop plans major elevator projects at Letellier and Binscarth, three more facilities this year, and four more in three to four years, plus a joint bid with Alberta Wheat Pool to buy Humboldt Flour Mills Inc. in Saskatchewan.
