Hamiota store reopens under Rais Food Town name
The corner Maple Ave and 4th St store in Hamiota becomes Rais Food Town ahead of new owners Greg and Carol Vincent. It will carry Food Town and Omra Foods brands with expanded assortments, reorganized aisles, and a 10 percent family discount day each month. Greg and Carol keep Vincent’s Place Restaurant, with Tom Chubey as new full time butcher and moving from Canora. Grand opening planned for early June.

The Village of Hamiota held a regular meeting on March 19. Resolution 7 dated Feb 19 was rescinded. Costs for repairs to the village shop from a vehicle accident will be recovered. The Appointments By-law was amended to add Ross Sheardown as Lions Club representative to the Swimming Pool and to include Ron Dale and Eric Brown.
