Manitoba Jobless Rate Holds At Third Lowest In Canada
Manitoba's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stayed at 6.5 percent in March with the unadjusted rate down to 7.8 percent. National rates rose to 8.6 percent seasonally adjusted and 9.7 percent unadjusted. Unemployed held at 31,000 seasonally adjusted and 36,000 unadjusted. Employed rose by 3,000 seasonally and 4,000 unadjusted. Counts show 17,000 more Manitobans employed than a year earlier. a Private Sector Youth Employment Program will start in about three weeks to boost totals.
