Paper Collection Project Expands at Cardale Workshop

The Cardale Rolling Dale Workshop grows its paper collection program to a full time effort handling about 20 tons monthly. Bins placed in depots across Minnedosa Rapid City Basswood Shoal Lake Rivers Kenton Harding Hamiota Oak River Brookdale Virden and Brandon support collecting classifying and packing for shipment. The workshop also refinishes furniture makes crafts upholsters and builds bee supers. A February hockey fundraiser raised 237.75 and staff and clients hosted a broomball game with rolling dale rats and the Dauphin Tigers.

W I Meet Hamiota Collected Books For Charity

The W I met in the community room on April 4 with 11 members and 2 visitors. Fifteen boxes were packed for the Children's Hospital Book Mart. Members planned to attend the regional convention in Neepawa and donated $20 to the Pennies for Friendship Fund. Reports from committees covered Red Cross Citizenship Home Economics and Health. A guest displayed straw weaving macrame bead work knitting and apple people. Roll call for May 2 will be an exchange of seeds or plants.

Daylight Saving Starts In Manitoba In April

Manitoba resumes daylight saving time with clocks advancing one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday April 30. The Official Time Act sets uniform saving across the province for six months from the last Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October.
