Birdtail River School District approves land transfer and grants
The Birdtail River School Division No. 38 held a meeting April 9 1981 in Crandall with trustees and administration present. Actions include approving land transfer No. 381 and 3/81 to Laycock, approving evening course grants for Shoal Lake Art Club Hamiota Art Club and Birtle Ellice Recreation District, and receiving the 1980 audited financial statements showing expenditures of 4 081 351 with revenue exceeding by 34 087.

Mr and Mrs Bob Shakespere of Winnipeg and grandmother Mrs Mabel Schmons visited Parkissimo Lodge. Mrs Margaret Foster and Mrs Rose Finkbeiner joined Mrs Mildred Attwood at a shower for Diane and Glennis Rothney at Isabella Community Centre. The event featured songs by Julie Clark and her mother, skits, a farmers bonspiel read by Lloyd Irwin, and a Ladies Choir performance. Lunch was provided by the Isabella group and Mabel Stowe spoke on behalf of Lodge residents thanking the hosts.
