Hospital Auxiliary Meeting Held
A March 27 meeting opened with the Auxiliaries prayer led by Ruth McConnell. Reports showed a bank balance of 843.29 with donations including 70 from St. Davids and numerous items for hospital use. Plans included a May 6 tea bake sale, June supper, and Health and Safety Seminars in Cardale Lenore and Hamiota.

Fraud Seminar Sponsored by Brandon Police and Chamber
The Brandon City Police and the Brandon Sub-Division RCMP in partnership with the Brandon Chamber of Commerce host a fraud seminar covering credit card frauds fraudulent cheques shoplifting and prosecuting offenders. The event takes place at the Victoria Inn Brandon Manitoba on April 14 1981 with registration from 8 45 a.m. to a panel discussion around 5 p.m. Fee is 25 per person. Potato Champion Brings Home Western Canadian Title
Brandon W. Pollock of Hamiota was named Western Canadian Potato Champion at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair Seed Show, toppling all three certified seed potato classes. Judges cited Pollock-grown red, white and russet potatoes as supreme. The seed show showcased 35 growers from three Prairie provinces, with judging before the Winter Fair opened on Monday March 30. Other seeds champions included R. B. Moffatt, Oat Champion. Harold Kletke, Flax Champion. Clark Frantz, Barley Champion. Leonard Hink, Seed Wheat Champion. Molly Stanchniak, Seed Oat Champion. and Murray Slawinski, Forage Crop Champion.

Hydro to Serve Flin Flon Mine
Winnipeg Manitoba Hydro will serve Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co. at Flin Flon starting April 1 1981. The Flin Flon operation has long used Island Falls hydro in Saskatchewan, owned by Churchill River Power Co. The Saskatchewan license expired March 31 1981 and Saskatchewan Power Corp. took ownership of Island Falls. Hudson Bay applied for and gained Manitoba Hydro service from that date.

Crandall Bus Drivers Inservice Day Recap
A Crandall inservice held March 23 1981 drew 49 drivers plus spare and contract drivers with several Trustees in attendance. Registration at 9:00 a.m. featured film discussions about traffic law contexts followed by a noon catered meal by Crandall U C W. After 2 45 p.m. films, drivers met briefly.
