March 20 1983 event drew 72 curlers at Health Centre News Jackie Johnston led her rink including Les Gregory Karen Newton and Jim Anderson to win the giant trophy in a race for the Seagram like title. Mardi Lee placed second after Tom Thompson drew to the four foot in the playoff. Airdrie Knight hogged rocks and earned 7 roses Don Wilsons rink took most rocks so they both share honors. Mavis George finished last as her team counted on only 2 ends in 2 games. J R Sheardown handed out prizes amid lighthearted chatter about skip antics. $35 in penalties for hogged rocks went to the Manitoba Heart Foundation.
