County Board Acts on Liberty Township Road Repair Levy
The county commissioners received a petition from Eli Scudder and forty-one neighbors asking repair and graveling of the Millikin road torn up by the Dayton Short-Line Railroad. They levied one and one tenth mills for the Road and Bridge Fund, adding about 36,550 dollars when collected. County bonds of 3,000 dollars faced interest payments of 240 dollars, paid on motion. Bridge bonds of 1,000 dollars each were held over to guarantee 8 percent interest, while one member opposed. A strange clock solicitation by E Dana & Co. was noted as an ad tactic in a mill. The School Board secretary works on a mandated annual report detailing costs, bonds, and finances of the Fourth Ward School Building. A Wheeling mayoral report regarding legal action against the American Fire Alarm Telegraph Company was read. An apparent inspection relates to the U.S. District Court in Ohio and a note on Professor Austen Etas’s appointment to the State Board of School Examiners. The town’s local movements and officials are briefly described.

A garbled string of names announces spring mayor and city posts with multiple variants and misspellings. Names repeatedly surface for mayor and other city offices, including J L Flickinger Moses Klein Jos Woolmyer and Jacob Linun, reflecting a flurry of independent and party allied candidacies. The document reads as a rough fanfare of names and roles with no coherent schedule or official slate.
