German Democracy in Butler County and Campaign Attacks
The piece attacks Cagliostro Delacourt and the Cincinnati Commercial for targeting public figures like Col. Campbell and General Democrats. It defends Campbell’s probity, criticizes Know-Nothing rhetoric, and notes a Benton county spring yielding beechnuts, walnuts and butternuts despite no nearby trees.
