Disfranchising Of Ohio Electors Is Held Impossible
Columbus, Sept. 23. Admin officials, after reviewing attorney general Bettman’s suggestion, say the new Ohio election code would not disfranchise electors. The code lists presidential and vice presidential candidates in one bracket and votes for the candidates, not electors, per state law. Supreme Court divisions cited support that electors are public officers and voters may vote for each electoral post. The law relies on a single marking to cast votes for both federal officials. The Nov. 4 election will test the new code’s use.
