Geological survey work under way near Hamilton Ohio
The United States Geological Survey in cooperation with Ohio plans rapid topographic mapping of about 4,370 square miles in Hamilton County and surrounding areas. Fifteen quadrangles are active with more planned this season. Maps will show rivers towns trails and land forms with 10 and 30 foot contours, aiming for final scales of two miles to inch. Herman Tang and others lead the survey from Newport and Washington.
