Oxford Man Rescued as Robbery Foiled at Dress Shop

Deputy Marshal Lem Willis spotted a man at the rear of the dress shop on East High Street at 11 Friday night. He surprised two thieves. one fled, the other named Towis Daniele of Cincinnati was captured for questioning. Inside, about 40 dresses remained, nothing stolen. Daniele claimed an unknown Oxford man assisted him. Cincinnati authorities to check for prior arrests.

Lucy F Keith Found Dead at Western College

Sad news from Oxford Nov 5 announces the death of Lucy E Keith a longtime Western College for Women faculty member and former bibliographic literature professor. She was visiting in Decatur IL when found dead in her bed likely from a heart attack after years of poor health. Funeral services were held in Braintree Mass. An endowment fund to honor her memory had been started by alumni.

Fourth Annual 4 H Club Congress Honors Rural Leaders

At Columbus Ohio on November 6 the 4 H Club Congress honored 29 youth ages 16 to 20 who served 10 years in the program. Directors praised the volunteers while a poll of careers showed farmers and teachers as top choices, with engineers a strong second among boys and teaching dominant among girls.
