Burton Divorce Case and City Court Proceedings

Judge Walter Harlan heard a mix of civil and probate matters in Dayton on Saturday afternoon. The docket included a new motion in the state v Ballrino manslaughter case, a divorce suit between Rachel and John Burton, a trial set for Hibbard on Monday for assault with intent to kill, and various estate and guardianship actions with hearings slated for April 10 or other dates.

Will of Horace Pease Case Heads Docket In Probate

On Wednesday afternoon a case sought the proper construction of the will of the late Horace Pease. Pease left substantial property. Richey appointed executor William Richey to manage the June Gordon estate. It is valued at 900 dollars. An attachment in the Hamilton Motor Car Co versus E L M Raucher case was heard by Judge Harlan with a motion to dissolve. M F Brown sued Jub Loos for 0 on note and George Toon for 300 on notes. Ladies Night at Epworth Leaaders service planned

Epworth Leaguers at the first M. B. church announce Ladies Night a with the service conducted by the girls. County Commissioners Meet Reallocate Repairs and Clock Plan

At a Saturday meeting the county commissioners awarded 1887 to repair ironwork under the High and Main Street bridge. The Bender Co. contracted for temporary stairwork at the courthouse exterior to the sheriff and clerk offices at 128. The Magneta Clock Co. proposed installing a tower-regulated clock system at 000. Action was deferred. The janitor was instructed to move brickwork from the yard to the street per the architect’s orders. A small change in the auditor’s office reconstruction was granted today.

Interior court work advances with steel awaiting

The Bender Co. waits for steel after completing interior court work. Steel arrives early next week and will be installed at once. A month later the top of the building will rise signaling new power, with doors, windows, and tranoms to be of steel construction and fireproof.
