Oxford John Manrod Passes Away
John Manrod longtime farmer on the Salley farm southeast of Oxford died at his home yesterday afternoon around 3 o clock after a several week illness. He was 74, born in Darrtown December 1647, spent all life in Her county. He married Sarah Jane Kay on September 29 1874. Surviving are six children William Teckman of Darrtown Jacob Manrod of Hamilton Jesse Mayrel of Deven Mile Mrs Jacob Burkhardt of Hamilton and George and Clays Manrod at home. Eight grandchildren three brothers and two sisters also survive. The funeral from the family residence will be held Wednesday at 2 pm with burial in Darrtown cemetery.

Clements Held on Mann Act Charge in Richmond Case
Officer Walter Finley arrested Roland Clements in Richmond Indiana on Mann Act charges. Clements 24 allegedly enticed Mildred Garnett 17 to accompany him from Oxford to Liberty then Richmond promising a good job. They traveled by train and car to a questionable house. Clements is jailed awaiting federal action.

President Grants Clemency in Covington Espionage Case
President Harding on June 28 granted executive clemency to B. Schoberg Henry Kross and Henry Feltman of Covington who were sentenced on December 10, 1920 to five years in a federal prison with Feltman fined 40000.
