Oxford Annual Commencement Held at Oxford College for Women

Ninety first commencement at Oxford College for Women honors thirty seven graduates in arts music and household economics. Addresses by Rev. Theodore G. Soares and performances by the College Choral Society highlight the ceremony. Degrees awarded to graduates from Boonville Owensboro Madison West Chester and other Indiana Kentucky communities.

Alumnae Day at Western College Highlights and Events

Western college marked alumnae day with a large turnout including graduates and former students. Luncheon featured frit cocktails veal mashed potatoes peas in timbales and a Western Garden toast sequence led by Misa Hattie Wishard. Recital music and the senior class play Le Matade Im a Agiozire were presented with formal dinners and a senior cap handing ceremony.

Faculty Change At Miami University Names Hooke To Professorship

Professor Leon D. Irvin will be on leave to study in France next year. M. K. Hooke, a University of Chattanooga graduate, is appointed to fill his chair and will teach French and Spanish. Hooke is currently in France at the University of Paris during 1990 21. He is married with one child.

Harrod Wins Judgment Against Henley for 300 Dollars

Guy Harrod of 9 Hamilton was awarded $300 against H. J. Henley by Judge Walter Harlan after Harrod claimed he paid Henley’s note on which he stood as guarantor. Henley admitted reimbursing Harrod with Miami Body Works stock shares, which the judge found insufficient proof.
