Oxford Doctor G E Jackson Dies Suddenly

Oxford D June news reports the sudden death of Dr George Edward Jackson pastor of the First Presbyterian church. He collapsed at his Best High Street home after a minor ailment and apoplexy was listed as the cause. His wife lies ill in Cincinnati and two daughters are en route to Oxford. Also noted are Miami University faculty changes including retirements and new appointments at the economics mathematics English and French departments.

Linn Brown spent Friday in Cincinnati. Miss Nita Benddar, at Bryn Mawr, has returned home to spend summer with her parents Prof. and Mrs. B. H. Scudder. Mrs. Grace Walsh of Collinsville and several others are guests near af-town for the death of Miss Mary E. Barbour. Mrs. Barkley and her mother traveled to Detroit to visit Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Barkley. Walter Shupp, a Miami University graduate and former football star, is in town visiting friends after a year in Kansas oil fields. Dr. and Mrs. A. M. Rawsey and children returned from Indiana and Philadelphia after two weeks away.

Little on Trip George B Little director of athletics at Miami

George B Little Miami University athletics director left for Washington, D C to visit his parents then will report to Nashville on March 7 to attend George Peabody College summer athletic training. Mrs Little will visit Fiqua and later join him in Nashville. A motor fire truck arrived from Prospect Ohio, drawing attention as it was tested on Main Street. Fire Chief Pow Flanagan praised the new machine. Sophomore Senior Banquet at Oxford College for Women occurred last night at the Spinning Wheel. Woman’s Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church elected officers for the coming year including President Mrs J Gilbert Welsh and Treasurer Miss Katharina Barbour.

Pearl Hood, 16, of Colcotto, was ordered to receive 7 40 a week from Louis Hood as temporary alimony by Judge Clarenes Murphy. Attorney Harry Wonnell was awarded 15 in fees. Leipsic June 4 The formal acquittal of Lieut Carl Neumann charged with sinking the hospital ship Dover Castle while commanding an eight submarine boat was announced to save him from war crimes accusations amid wartime tensions.
