Columbus Ohio officials warned that jail capacity will not meet rising prison crowds. Hal H Griswold state welfare director told Governor Cooper’s welfare commissioner that the population could hit 18 320 within ten years if crime maintains its current pace. Existing facilities and planned buildings would only slow overcrowding if funded to capacity.

First Tri-Motor Transport Grounded
Columbus July 10. Old Number One, the fret tri motored plane for the transcontinental passenger line between Columbus and Los Angeles, launched here Thursday on its last flight. It will be placed in the Pennsylvania station in New York. It was the first flying unit of the original transport service in this country. Years ago when the plane was delivered to Transcontinental Air Transport, it was flown by Colonel Charles A Lindbergh and since then has covered 201500 miles with 5440 passengers without an accident.

Rosalie Condron Dies Sudden in Cincinnati
Miss Rosalie Condron a prominent figure in public church and political circles in Cincinnati died suddenly at her sister’s Forestville Ohio home after a heart attack on July 16.
