Missing Miami University student prompts search in Oxford

Oxford Jan 10 A Miami University senior, Arthur Clark, is missing from Oxford after last seen January 3 at the home of Mrs. Van Ness. Clark had been due to re-enter Miami University, drew money from a bank, and left with new clothes and a suitcase. Authorities traced a hotel sheet-room transfer but found no further trace. his father reported the matter to university officials and Indianapolis Y M C A.

Max Ziliox Leaves Oxford Hardware for Armour Fertilizer

Max Ziliox has left the Oxford Hardware company to join Armour Fertilizer of Cincinnati. He will oversee the territory including Butler and Preble counties in Ohio and Franklin, Union and Fayette counties in Indiana. He will keep his stake in the hardware firm and operate from Armour’s store headquarters.

Birthday anniversaries properly celebrated at family dinner

Three birthday anniversaries were celebrated at a dinner hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Hugh M. Moore on South Beech street. Bobby Moore aged 3, Dr. BH. A. Moore aged 33, and Dr. David R. Moore aged 73 were honored. Family members and sisters Miss Mary Moore and Miss Carrie Moore from Brookville, Ind., attended.

Attractions at the Oxford Theatres Tonight and Week

Rudolph Valentino stars in The Young Rajah at the Oxford Theatres this evening and throughout the week. The Dangerous Age screens at the Oxford as well, offering patrons two featured films in succession.

John Miller Passes Away in Oxford

John Miller long time Oxford resident died at 7:35 p.m. at his home on West Church Street after a three month illness. Aged 80, he was the last of a seven member pioneer Franklin county family. Miller was a former farmer who retired in 1912 and later lived in College Corner and Oxford. He leaves wife Elizabeth Updyke and two sons Lee G. Miller of Indianapolis and Carl K. Miller of College Corner. He belonged to Union Universalist church. Funeral arrangements will be announced.

Miami University basketball squad to Akron for Friday game

Miami University's nine man team under Coach Harry W. Ewing and Manny Wright departs at noon for Akron where the University of Akron hosts Friday night action. Saturday the Miami group heads to Gambler to see Kenyon College jalba playing that evening.

Junior class wins debate at McGaffer High School

The McGaffer High School junior class defeated the sophomore team in a post-noon debate on restricting Japanese immigration. Speakers were Clifford Gatwick Mary Louise Young and Hugh Kramer for the juniors while Bernice Bake Isabel Schocke and Robert Bourne spoke for the sophomores. Judges were Prof Charles Quager Miss Mary Duboie and Prof Albert A Grinnell.
