Indignation rose among Henry street residents Thursday as C H & D workers posted a red watchman’s shanty on the sidewalk near the crossing. The setup blocked views of the depot and tool yard filled with old cars and lumber while a roundhouse nearby belched smoke. The recent city meeting had granted permission without consulting property owners or design plans, and the improvised shanty quickly expanded to Sycamore and Forth streets, serving as a waste shanty and storage for railroad ties and telegraph poles.

Reatti, a longtime local trader, vows to lead the year’s work with firm but public-minded leadership. Berko-wits declines third consecutive re election, with plans to honor new members annually.

The First Church Ladins Aid division met yesterday for Sowing and social business, planning for the Bus ter wale and a Friday meeting at Mrs Wakeford’s Linden wall. Mrs C G Shiller hosted a Ladies Aid gathering with 16 members present and three new members welcomed.
A lively event drew a large crowd that thoroughly enjoyed the program. Organizers reported strong turnout and positive reactions from attendees.
The Sunday School Union will meet tonight at First Baptist Church with K. M. Ludley presiding and John A. Koehler speaking on Sunday School problems. An animal education program is planned as part of the evening events.
At a state parole board meeting in Manafield Reformatory only five of ten parole applications were approved. Tan Gulthan from Butler County was paroled, set to leave April 1. Callahan, linked to a Middletown burglary, was not released this time and remains under supervision. A group photo of Clan Patriarch Militant members after their meeting was noted.
William A Brady, leading a strong company, praised the quality of the Smiths theatre show and announced the Brady attraction Baby Mine will be presented there. He lauded the cast and staging, calling the company excellent and recommending Brady productions.
Mrs Charles Slomnox wife of the doctrivity at Smith's theatre was badly burned yesterday afternoon at 523 South Monument avenue when boiling food splashed upon her. Coston Store Sold Art receiver's gate the George Coston High sixed candy store sold Wednesday with many purchasers.
