Big Banks and Not Small Banks Helped By RFC Loans
Reconstruction Finance Corporation loans in early 1930s operations favored large banks over small ones. John T Flynn in Harper’s Magazine claims $642 million in five months went to 3,600 banks, with 292 million to a few large banks in Chicago San Francisco Cleveland and others. Secrecy around railroad loans allegedly hid amounts to groups like Morgans Van Sweringen and Pennsylvania Railroad, prompting Flynn to warn that government secrecy endangers public trust.

Financial aid to farmers by credit corporation
The Regional Agricultural Credit corporation plans to rehabilitate agriculture by offering targeted loans without crowding out private enterprise. In Columbus and Louisville offices, loans totaling over $13 million have been disbursed to more than 9,400 farmers, with $41 million approved but not yet dispersed and 29,000 applications totaling $65 million awaiting action.
