Oxford village imposed a coasting hour on Main Street from Welout Street south to Spring Street to protect children from traffic after a heavy snowfall. Mayor Thomas ordered barricades at Collies Street and police stationed at Spring Street. hours are 4 to 10 p m with other streets banned. Snowplows kept sidewalks passable and residents anticipate safer play for youths on the hill.

Montgomery county moves forward with a $125000 project to repave Germantown pike from Dayton line southwest 4.1 miles. The plan adds 1.1 miles of 40 foot pavement, 0.4 mile 40 foot, 2.6 miles 20 foot, plus 0.6 miles of sidewalk and curb and gutter on both sides. The upgrade will boost southbound traffic to Middletown and expand access to Dayton.

George H Wick, age 74, died at the home of his son Fred Wick in Dayton. A longtime Amanda resident, he was born in Temnilton and moved to Amanda young. He married Toniva F P Rolf, now deceased, and left five living children and six others previously named, plus 26 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He worked many years at the Crystal Fissure Willy in Amanda and was known in all departments of the company.
