Oxford Fire Destroys Thobe House on Chestnut Street
Fire at the Thobe House on West Chestnut Street end of College Avenue in Oxford caused about 6300 to 6500 in damage. Bellville man badly injured by bull during transfer
Hilbert Rogers, a well known farmer near town, was seriously hurt yesterday when a bull he was turning over to its new owner lunged and pinned him to a post. Two ribs were broken and a shoulder wound left him scraped and bruised. If not for Joe Bruns grabbing the bull by its nose, Rogers might have died. Rogers will be confined to his home for weeks. The bull had been sold to Joe Bruns, who acted quickly to prevent a worse outcome. A poster lists the claim and Village Solicitor Harry J. Koehler is handling the investigation.
