Mrs Magdaline Warness Saunders is to be reunited with her husband Harold Saunders after a prolonged separation. He had left with a note saying he was going abroad and was believed to be in Central or South America before moving east to work as a lawyer in several cities. He is now located in Atlantic City with a furnished apartment awaiting them.

Oxford council approves College avenue paving and bonds

Oxford Ohio village council in session approves amended ordinance for paving College avenue from High to Spring streets with a 40 foot width, authorizes $7,000 in bonds to fund part of a $29,000 project, to be dated May 2, 1921 at 6 percent. Council also considers tarvia pavement options and grants permission for a 1,009 gallon gasoline tank under sidewalk for an auto shop. Bills are listed for surveying and supplies. local high school seniors plan two plays in May.

United States Steel declares quarterly dividends and earnings

New York April 27 announced United States Steel Corporation declares regular quarterly dividends of 11 percent on common stock and 13 4 percent on preferred. The quarter ended March 31 shows earnings of 92,266,722 with net income 20,656,930 and surplus 2,816,005. Previous quarter earnings were 13,877,62 with net income 4,709,816 and surplus 14,481,446.

Money from sale distributed among heirs and judge

Elizabeth H. Endit received 98.76 from the sale of Oxford property she sued to partition. Maria Mitchall, Margaret Mitchell, Elizabeth Thomas and Prudence M. Cook each got 24.69 and Chief Jackson 107.54 under the distribution by Judges Clarence Murphy. The property sold for 534.

Wage Scale Set For Cabinet Makers And Carpenters

In Cleveland on April 26, Judge Frenk appointed an arbitrator to fix the wage scale for cabinet makers and carpenters. The new scale settles at seventy cents an hour for the coming year, down from the present one dollar. Representatives of employers and the union will select a judge by lot to determine the final rate each spring.
