Washington reports that William J. Bryan will issue a candidacy statement for the Democratic presidential nomination within weeks and outline a platform. A formal conference with advisers was postponed. the Octobers statement aims to steer Democratic strategy toward the national convention.
A motion has been filed in common pleas court to dissolve the temporary injunction in Henry Heinlein versus Ambrose Hensler and others. The defendants allege the petition facts are untrue. The plaintiff seeks to restrain defendants from entering a leased farm.

Testimony in the federal hearing against Standard Oil of New Jersey shows John D. Rockefeller owned 256,554 of 972,500 shares, more than a fourth, with later transfers. W H Tilford, Standard Oil treasurer, testified on stock ownership and the liquidating trustee records. Evidence also suggests Standard operated in Texas as Corsican Refining, contrary to Texas anti trust laws.
In New York on September 19 Mrs. A L Adler learned her betrothed Mr. Adler died of typhoid after a Yellowstone trip. Engaged eight years to Miss Johanna Hartung, Adler married her at 6:30 am before dying at 10 am at Mount Sinai hospital.
Mrs. Isabella Sutherland McNeeley widow of Dr J S McNeeley died last night at 11 45 at 128 North Front street. Born Sept 19 1825 in Hamilton she was the second youngest of eight children of John Sutherland, a Scots immigrant and wealthy merchant. She was long active in First Presbyterian Church and noted for charity and kindness.
