In Columbus Ohio on October 26 betting on the mayoral election is quiet with small wagers on Bond the liberal candidate and limited action on Judge Thomas J. Duncan the Democrat. A single large stake of 1200 to 1000 was posted at the Grill cafe with an unidentified Fourth street saloon keeper as the backer. Michael Dolan aged 55 cried I’d rather be dead than go to jail as Magistrate Frank J Brady sentenced him to 10 days in jail. Dolan collapsed and died of heart disease minutes after entering the county jail doors to begin his sentence.

In Lebtinen Ohio on October 26 a poisoning incident sickened the Anderson family of Morrow. A poison was placed in a four barrel pie causing illness across the household though no one is described as dangerously ill.
Mrs. C. E. Hutchinson wife of a Baptist minister and recent inmate of the Western Kentucky insane asylum died at Howell yesterday afternoon from self inflicted burns. She poured kerosene on her clothing and set it alight in a tragic act of personal self harm.
