A man identified as Anthony M. Wahl of 423 Wade Street Cincinnati left a note claiming he would die in the canal. The body was found near Elmwood by Michael Hinterlont with a bottle of carbolic acid. witnesses say he had recently deserted his wife and faced financial trouble. Police took the body to Hodapp Undertaker in St Bernard. A Berlin dispatch notes Bacon may become Ambassador to Germany succeeding Tower.
