Georgetown Ky November 12. Caleb Powers trial resumes as defense seeks abatement by introducing Governor Taylor’s pardon, previously ruled invalid, while Commonwealth Attorney Franklin declares prosecution ready. Judge Morris overrules the plea and the court adjourns to 2 PM.
Fremont November 12. Archie Venuto of Fremont attempted a life sustained on peanuts only after scientists said peanuts contained all essential elements. After four days he went crazy and was hospitalized. He refused all else, died after a week on peanuts, dying of exhaustion.
Swift & Co plant in Harrisburg Pennsylvania burned overnight destroying the facility and causing an estimated loss of 250000 dollars. Insurance partially covers the damage.
Clinton E Walling, newly elected city treasurer, filed his official bond with the city auditor on Tuesday morning. Sureties include Frank W Whitaker Charles E Mason O M Bake S K Hughes Charles E Heiser George P Sohn gen S D Fitton and Ernst G Ruder. Bond amount stands at 150000 dollars.
