Hazardous crossing ends with horse wreck and injuries
Frank Hazlett hired a rig from White Brothers on North Monument avenue and at 8 30 crossed the Pennsylvania tracks at Tenth street in front of a westbound freight engine. The horse was thrown from the buggy into a vacant lot while Hazlett flew about thirty feet before landing. The buggy was wrecked and Hazlett suffered bruises, while the conductor and brakeman on the engine pilot received scratches. Hazlett was taken to Dr Silver for care.
