Shire finances show revenue deficit and cautious outlook
Auditors Mev ars, WS Forsyth and Co. reported to the Guyra Shire Council that aggregate revenue across funds was gone with expenditure as a deficit of 989 pounds 13 shillings. Yearly comparisons show declines and increases mainly due to administration costs and legal fees. They praised records as in excellent order and urged vigilance to avoid overspending in 1949 while noting that a half-penny rate rise could yield about 2000 pounds.
