Bruce McGuire Leaves Guthrie FHA for State Office

Stuart Man Is Picked Up For Back Charges
A Stuart man was jailed for 14 days after being picked up Saturday afternoon by city police. Sheriff Lester Petersen said Michael Winefeldt began serving a term from last year for disturbing the peace and speeding, but he had not served those counts. He was to have a Monday hearing on a Guthrie Center police ticket from June, but did not appear, according to Police Chief Frank Brooks.

Essay Contest For REC Opens Two Winners
Guthrie County Rural Electric Cooperative will sponsor two delegates in June to a Youth tour of the Nation’s Capitol through its annual essay contest. Deadline is March 20 for essays on “RECs and What It Means To Me My Family and My Community,” 500 to 1000 words, open to high school juniors with REC member parents. State judging centers on school winners performance in a December 1 test personal observation and interviews during the tour.
