Obituary of John Purvis of Kentucky and Indiana ties
John Purvis born April 9 1821 in Kentucky departed February 16 1907 aged 86. He moved to Indiana at age five and married Charity Hanks at twenty one. They had four living children two daughters Mrs Skinner and Mrs Skinner and Mrs Vantreese, a son Alec who survives. Margaret died at age five. Will died in 1852. Alec remains on the old homestead south of town.
