May ended as the coldest in 46 years at the Indianapolis weather bureau with an average of 56 degrees. Milroy Driver Loses Horse After Fall in City
Dale Harcourt of Milroy hired a rig from Mercer and Hood and rode to town Saturday evening. Near the blacksmith shop the horse slipped and dislocated its hip, was killed, valued at about 125 dollars, insured for 160 dollars. Mercer investigates and calls it an accident with no fault by the driver. The buggy was later towed home behind an auto.

Clarksburg Odd Fellows Hold Memorial Services
The Odd Fellows of Clarksburg held memorial services at the Christian church on Sunday afternoon with an address by Mr. Yocum of Rushville and a Rushville quartet. Music included two violin solos by Rev. Homer Campbell of Kingston and a vocal solo by Mrs. C. C. Wilson. After the church program, services moved to the cemetery where the church was decorated in patriotic colors. A very good attendance was present.

Judge Donaker announced the selection of John F. Goddard Louis Zoller Dr C C Morrison Ira Rigby L P Dobyns Miss Kate Emmert and Morgan I Miers as the Decatur County Council of Defense.
