About 600 high school students and parents will tour Wartburg College on Fall Visitation Day October 4 sponsored by admissions. Minor school bus pickup collision Tuesday morning

A local school bus driven by Virginia Harris and a pickup driven by Howard Wells, owned by Dix on Marsh, collided near Skillen's bridge at about 8 10 am. Both vehicles sustained slight damage with no injuries. The bus veered into the north ditch. Gene Viers transported the children to school. Deputy Sheriff Marvin Barth investigated.

Third District Legion Conference Slated for Waterloo

Gas Company Lists Property Taxes Paid For 1968 in Butler Co

Northern Natural Gas Company and its Peoples Natural Gas Division mailed final payment of 1958 property tax totaling 1 950 960 to Iowa counties. They paid 12 024 in Butler County taxes on transmission and distribution facilities with a second half 6 013 for 1968 payable in 1969. This year the two divisions paid 3 899 293 in property taxes on facilities in 71 of Iowa's 9 counties. The company runs about 7 000 miles of buried pipeline and other facilities in the state, serving 384 Iowa communities while Peoples covers 108 cities and towns.

F.L. B.A. to Pay over $37,000 in Dividends to Members

The Hampton Federal Land Bank Association will pay more than $37,000 in dividends to its 744 members. Dividend checks will be mailed October 1. to farmers who own stock in the association serving Franklin Wright and parts of Butler Cerro Gordo and Hancock counties. The association, owned by borrower members, has paid dividends for 26 years, totaling over $500,000 returned to stockholders. Long-term farm loans outstanding in the served counties total $18,533,300, up $2,250,600 from last year.

United Telephone Co Promotion in Greene

Jack C Macklin has been named to an in charge position at United Telephone Co in Greene. Cub Scouts to Deliver Goodwill Bags on Saturday

The Cub Scouts of Winnebago Area Council will begin the annual Scout Good-Turn Drive for the handicapped at Goodwill Industries this Saturday October 4. O K Conklin, Greene Community School vocal instructor, attended a day-long Junior High Vocal Music Clinic at Luther College on Saturday September 27. Eugene Troth of University of Michigan led the session with the topic New Dimensions in Class Room Music. About eighty vocal teachers heard presentations from kindergarten through sixth grade.
