Public hearings in Third District on legislative proposals
Residents of Iowa third district have two public hearings the week of March 17 to voice views on state legislative proposals. Meetings start 7 30 p m at the Elks Club Waterloo on March 18 and Mason City Library on March 19. Attendees will discuss land use policy corporate farming ban criminal code revision corporate tax changes and other issues. Sponsors are district Republican legislators.

Brinkman to lead Butler Civil Service Commission
Francis Brinkman of Greene was named Chairman of the Butler County Civil Service Commission after the commission elected him at its Allison meeting. The panel set May 1 1975 for a civil service exam for deputy sheriff hopefuls with April 15 1975 as the application deadline. The goal is to certify eligible applicants for appointment by Sheriff Marvin W. Barth. Chief Deputy Dean Wiegmann was inducted without exam under state law. Deputy County Auditor and Personnel Director Mrs. Richard Seehusen, Allison, was named. Commission members include F M Witt Shell Rock and Jack D Perry Parkersburg.

About 60 attended the World Day of Prayer service on March 7 with the theme Become Perfectly One prepared by Egyptian women. A public hearing on the North Central Iowa Area Agency on Aging Plan will be held Monday March 17 at 1 p.m. at the First National Bank in Clarion. All interested persons may attend and offer suggestions for the Area Plan for fiscal year July 1 1975 through June 30 1976. To qualify for Title II monies under the Older Americans Act NCIAAA must submit the plan annually to the Iowa State Commission on Aging for approval.
