Carl Johnson 96 died after a fall in Crosby Minnesota Hospital. Funeral held at St Peter's Lutheran in Nome North Dakota. Survived by sons Clifford Johnson Oswald Johnson. daughters Ann Fehr Selma Lee and Carl Friedrichs. Also survived by 1¢ grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Girl Scout Week Celebrates 55th Anniversary March 12 18

The Girl Scouts of America mark their 55th anniversary from March 12 to 18 with the theme Values to Hold Worlds to Explore. Founded by Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah GA on March 12 1912, the movement has grown to over three million girls and tissues in adults. Greene district includes 115 girls and North Iowa Council about 4728 girls in scouting.

Luther College Concert Band to Tour Area Next Week

The Luther College Concert Band under Weston Noble will start its annual Spring tour with concerts in four states. On tour are Pam Dralle and Marie Smith, daughters of Greene and Marble Rock families, joined by instrumentalists from Cedar Rapids to Waverly. March 17 is the last day for growers to file applications to participate in the 1967 feed grain program.
