Two Are Serving Sentences In Jail In LeRoy

LeRoy Johnson age 25 of Gladbrook pleaded guilty before Judge Wild in Allison on Monday to a check charge and was arrested January 10 in Parkersburg. Wild sentenced him to four months in the county jail. Dan R McCaffery age 24 of Fort Dodge pleaded guilty to OMVI second offense and license suspension before Judge Wild on Monday. He received 150 days for OMVI and 60 days for license suspension with terms to run concurrently. he was arrested in January and is serving his term in the county jail.

Arrest Hesalroad On Two Charges

Attorney Galen Hesalroad of Greene was arrested Friday night by two marshals at Nora Springs on charges of obtaining money by false pretenses and false drawing and uttering of an instrument. He is held in Floyd County Jail in Charles City in lieu of $1,500 bond on the false pretenses charge. He appeared before Justice Walter Rose in Charles City. Hesalroad is also held on a $100 bond for false drawing and uttering a check and will appear before Justice Mary Barr in Marbie Rock. A preliminary hearing date on the false pretenses charge has not been set.

Two Cars Damaged In Mishap Tuesday

Leola Ekwall and Dean Vorhes escaped injury when their cars hit head on on North Fourth Street about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. The northbound Ekwall car and the eastbound Vorhes car collided as visibility was hampered by snow. Estimated damage to each vehicle was $150.00.

One Person Injured In Car Truck Crash

Mes Leo Prange, 56, of Waterloo, suffered multiple bruises and lacerations when the car her husband was driving went out of control and collided with a Murphy Transportation Semi. The crash occurred on Highway 14 North of Allison as Prange rear ended a turning car and was cited for failure to yield. Darrell Kingery of Greene, driver of the semi, had head lacerations and both were treated at Scholtz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Sister of Mrs Alberta Stewart Dies in Lincoln

Mrs Hazel McNally received word last Wednesday of the death of her sister Mrs Alberta Stewart 83 at a rest home in Lincoln Nebraska. Stewart had suffered a stroke earlier that week and had been a patient in the rest home for five years.
